Was Jesus God?

Exodus 20:2-7: "I am Yehowah thy God, who hath brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of a house of servants. `Thou hast no other Gods before Me. `Thou dost not make to thyself a graven image, or any likeness which is in the heavens above, or which is in the earth beneath, or which is in the waters under the earth. Thou dost not bow thyself to them, nor serve them: for I, Yehowah thy God, am a zealous God, charging iniquity of fathers on sons, on the third generation , and on the fourth, of those hating Me, and doing kindness to thousands, of those loving Me and keeping My commands. `Thou dost not take up the name of Yehowah thy God for a vain thing, for Jehovah acquitteth not him who taketh up His name for a vain thing."

The first three commandments. I grew up as a Seven Commandment Adventist, I say that because Adventists believe that the 4th commandment is the most important, and ignore the first three commandments, however, the 4th commandment is not the most important, it is in fact, the 4th most important commandment...

But I regress, first lets establish how many God's there are...

Deut 6:4 "`Hear, O Israel, Yehowah is Ehohim, Yahowah is one."

Not two, Not three, One.

Now, what are some of the characteristics of Yahowah?

Numbers 23:19: "God is not a man--and lieth, And a son of man--and repenteth! Hath He said--and doth He not do it ? And spoken--and doth He not confirm it?"

1 Samuel 15:29, CEV: "Besides, the eternal God of Israel isn't a human being. He doesn't tell lies or change his mind."

Hosea 11:9, CEV: "Israel, I won't lose my temper and destroy you again. I am the Holy God-- not merely some human, and I won't stay angry."

So, He is not a man, not a human, and not the son of man.

So, Yahowah is not human and He is only One. Not two, not three.

Also, we know that Yahowah cannot die (see Genesis 3:22, among others).

So, what do we know about Jesus?

1. He was human. (Matthew 1:16, among others)
2. He was the son of man. (Matthew 8:20, among others)
3. He died. (Matthew 27:50, among others)

Therefore, by all counts, Jesus is not God, and to worship him, is to be a pagan idolater, and is breaking the first two commandments.

I challenge you to study this and see if what I have quoted here is true.

An additional item I would suggest for study is the genealogy of Joseph in Matthew and Luke. There is a significant difference between the two, and between the genealogy recorded in the Tanach (Old Testament), also, I would point out that the genealogy of Joseph has absolutely no bearing on the genealogy of Jesus, as he was not the son of Joseph, and a son cannot get a genealogy by adoption (Numbers 34:14, Numbers 1:18-44, Leviticus 24:10), and since the genealogy of Mary is not recorded, there is absolutely no proof that Jesus was from the line of David, much less, even a Jew.
